The 9 Centers in Human Design
The bodygraph shows 9 centers related to your aura and energy:
- Head – Inspiration, pressure
- Ajna – Concepts, uncertainty
- Throat – Manifestation, communication
- G Center (Identity) – Direction, love, identity
- Heart/Ego – Willpower, drive
- Solar Plexus – Emotions, awareness

Defined vs. Undefined
- Defined (colored): This energy is constant and reliable in you.
- Undefined (white): You take this energy in from outside; you are variable and receptive here.

Gates and Channels
There are 64 gates (from the I Ching) and 36 channels. A channel connects two centers; when you have both gates of a channel, the channel is defined and the two centers are connected. This is how type, authority and profile are formed.
