Human Design Variables – Deepening Your Design

Summary

Variables refine your design – digestion, environment, awareness and more.

What Are the Variables?

The variables (also “variable” or “four transformations”) refine your Human Design chart. They concern:

  • Primary Health System (PHS) – e.g. how you “digest” food and environment (taste, touch, smell, sound; calories, etc.).
  • Environment – which environment supports you.
  • Awareness – how you perceive the world.
  • Motivation – what drives you (from inside or outside).

Digestion / Sense

Some systems assign you a digestion type or sense (e.g. taste, touch, smell, sound). This can give clues to how you best eat and in what environment you feel at ease.

Sleep and Rhythm

Some variables relate to sleep and daily rhythm – when you work, eat or rest best.

Use in Daily Life

The variables are a deeper layer. For daily use, type, strategy and authority are often enough; the variables can sharpen your preferences (environment, diet, rhythm).
