What is Authority in Human Design?
Authority describes where you most reliably make decisions from – from the gut (sacral), from the emotional wave, from splenic intuition, from the ego heart, from the lunar cycle, or from the environment (when no inner authority is defined).
Emotional Authority
You have a defined emotional solar plexus center. Decisions should not be made in the moment but after emotional clarity – often after hours or days.
Sacral Authority
Typical for Generators and MGs. Your defined sacral responds with a real yes or no – through sounds, body feeling or spontaneous reaction. No mental decision; wait until the response comes.
Splenic Authority
Spontaneous intuition in the moment. The spleen knows immediately – you feel it physically or as sudden knowing. Don’t wait too long; the spleen works in the now.
Ego Authority (Heart)
Your heart/will center is defined. You know what you want – your heart tells you the direction. Rare; often in certain Projector or Manifestor charts.
Lunar Authority
For Reflectors. You need about 28 days (one lunar cycle) to “digest” a decision. The moon phases and your changing environment play a role.
No Inner Authority (Mental / Environment)
When none of the above authorities is defined, you have no fixed inner authority. Then: follow your strategy (type) and pay attention to the right environment and people.
