What Research Shows
Direct radiation from solar flares is largely absorbed by the atmosphere and does not reach the ground in harmful amounts. Geomagnetic storms change Earth's magnetic field only by a small percentage compared to everyday sources (appliances, buildings). Some studies have looked at statistical links between geomagnetic activity and cardiovascular or other outcomes; results are inconsistent, and causation and mechanisms are not established. Confounding (weather, stress, lifestyle) may play a role.
Practical Takeaway
If you feel unwell during strong space weather, take it seriously—but do not assume solar storms are the sole cause. Cosmic Radar provides the data (Kp, flares, CMEs) for transparency; health questions belong with a physician and evidence-based medicine.
